A speed restriction has been imposed over an embankment between Edenbridge and Godstone, meaning that trains will run at a reduced speed.

As a result of this, trains running between these stations will be delayed by up to 20 minutes.

This is expected until the end of the day on Sunday 13 December.

Customer advice:

Please allow up to 20 minutes of additional journey time in either direction while trains pass through the area at a reduced speed.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

Following reports of a ride quality concerns between Godstone and Edenbridge, Network Rail engineers have inspected the track and identified an issue with a nearby embankment.

To keep journeys safe, Network Rail carried out further detailed assessments and developed a plan for repairs. This work involves strengthening the embankment, and is not expected to be fully complete until Sunday 13 December. Until these repairs are finished, a speed restriction will remain in place in both directions through the area.
